In an effort to take this forum "further", and to redirect some of the spiralling energies of late, I'm going to open a few new topics across the board. The purpose of this is solely to see what we can do, to explore a little further than perhaps we have gone before, to kick the tires of our own awareness and see what we're capable of. No right or wrong answers, but as Dustin Waiting said in another post, "If you don't want to play, at least don't hinder." Good advice. 8)

So, with that said, what I'd like to suggest in the stalking arena is an exercise in stalking oneself. Despite some common beliefs, that's what stalking is about - stalking oneself, not stalking anyone else. It's about observing yourself in the machinations of your life - which anyone on this forum for advanced warriors already knows, of course. It's about becoming aware of our actions so that we can alter our behaviours with intent and will.

Exercise #1: All of us have done something "spontaneous" in our lives that has had profound consequences in hindsight. In your own life, take a look at one of those spontaneous acts and begin to ask yourself: what was the source of that action? If it was truly spontaneous, you neither planned it nor could have imagined it occurring. Was the outcome positive or negative within the framework of your life? Look at this from the perspective of your ordinary awareness. And then look at it from a warrior's perspective. What was the source of your spontaneity?? [CAVEAT: This is not a game of who's the better warrior, folks. So please avoid arguments such as saying that you would NEVER do anything spontaneous because you are so keenly aware of yourself at all times. If necessary, go back further into your life, to a time even before you became a warrior. There is a very significant point to this exercise, which I will get into around January 8 - when folks have had an opportunity to do the exercise.]

Exercise #2: Stalk your personal habits - your daily routines. Sounds simple, elementary even. But when "advanced" warriors start taking a look at their daily habits, they are often astonished to find that not much has changed since first embarking on this path at a beginning level. We TALK about altering our routines and changing our day to day habits, but to what extent have we really done so? Get up in the morning, take a leak, comb your hair, brush your teeth, shower, dress and head off to work on the same route you take every day? Okay... so what? Anything wrong with that? How do these routines define and determine your experience? Do we set up a comfort zone for ourselves which we live in out of habit? The goal here is largely to identify those things which we do by rote - and therfore, we are doing in our "sleep". Back to basics.

Exercise #3: This is the tough one, folks. If you REALLY aren't interestd in the subject matter, by all means, do NOT feel compelled to respond. Stalk yourself with ugly ruthlessness here. If you don't want to play, do you really want to hinder? I mean this seriously. If you see no benefit in what is being suggested here, why are you here at all? If you feel you have a better suggestion, open a new thread & suggest it, but ask yourself with deep honesty: do you REALLY have a better suggestion, or are you only looking to derail existing discussions? Be honest with yourself. Why are you here?

1. spontaneity is when my intent is manifested directly. i don't think about it. i do it every day writing music, i'm just playing - suddenly i've written 32 bars in a second, etc. or when jamming, i play a riff that sounds so good to me i could never have imagined playing something THAT good. luckily i record all my jams. lol.

i know exactly what you mean.. where does it come from? the place of silent knowledge i suppose. i can't speculate cos it's not something tangible that i can express with words. it's just a place i visit with increasing regularity and i love it there. everything that is, in the true sense of the word, awesome happens there. and it all has a positive benefit on my life, it's like all the things i really want to happen (without the 'lust for success or fear of failure') manifest themselves without thought.

I haven't managed to vanquish all my routines. I've a few ideas for some exercises which I will be doing when I get back home, and I'm not living in a house of arguing maniacs. In fact, living here for the last few weeks I have been unable to live life 'routinely'. But I still have the deeper routines.

I don't think there's anything wrong in keeping on top of personal hygiene or going to work or whatever. Unless of course you're not aware of what you're doing. When I perform these 'routines', I am aware of exactly what I'm doing. I'm showering - But that doesn't mean that my body is real, or needs the shower in the first place. I think maybe I have got this wrong, but the way I see it - this isn't real, but I'm going to play the game impeccably. Every day I study to achieve a qualification to become a teacher. This means that I can more directly manifest my intent. I will be able to find work that is not soul-destroying, and maybe inspire other people to take control of their lives. And I'm afraid that until I can afford to go live in the jungle - I must be impeccable in my actions. Could I leave all this behind and live off the land somewhere in rural england? no. my 'playground' is a city, this shitty town and after that, who knows? hopefully it is the open road.

I am here because the best way of learning is to throw yourself in at the deep end. I wanted to be 'smarter', and all of you guys seem pretty smart. I sorta flaunted the agreement that this is a place for advanced warriors. And honestly, I am still a pup. But already this forum has helped me to help myself. I'm progressing, albeit slower than a snail on heroin.
