hello,
im kind of new to this whole thing,these last two months ive gotten through all of castenedas books and about 20 or so audio books on quantum physics,the powere of he subconcious mind,meditation, dreaming, anyways,for about two weeks whle i was on vacation in florida i would do nothing but work on turning off my internal dialogue,i did this all day one time and that night i decided to try to have myself a lucid dream, i began with quieting my mind and turning off the dialogue, about a half hour into it i had a kind of sinking sensation followed by what i nly can describe as a current of air rushing through my whole body, its an actual physical sensation,it was new to me so i stayed with it,as long as i dont start up my internal dialogue the current keeps going and gets stronger,now this first time and i knw this is wierd sounding but i heard a flute playing,as if it were right next to my ear, then a voice comes in and starts explaining all sorts of things to me but i couldnt hold on any longer and i fell into a normal dream.now i can do this any time i like, i have found out that it a combination of preparing a little bit before i head off to bed and doing what i read in one of carlos's lectures i found on the net,he said to tell yourself as if your life depended "i am a dreamer" thats intent right, then i shut off the dialogue and sometimes it happens in like ten min. and sometimes i struggle with the dialogue and it takes up to an hour,ill even fall asleep and wake up a couple hours later and then realize i fell asleep and try it then and sure enough i get a sinking feeling and then the current runs through and if i stay with it it gets stronger and then a voice comes in. a couple times i opened my eyes while the current was doing its thing and saw some thing that kind of freaked me out and i didnt do it for a while, i also found out that if i try to talk while this is happening to me nothing comes out but a screach,its wierd stuff but i am determined to find out what this is i am doing, now one night i got a little scared and while the current was going through me i decided to stop and got up,went to the bathroom came back to my room and then i woke up on my back knowing that i just got up and went to the bathroom and also knowing that i have been sleeping the whole time! i would just like some input on what this is i am doing. it is totaly new to me. thanks jay!

I moved your post into its own thread, since I think it is exploring a whole topic that I've been wanting to touch on for awhile - lucid dreaming and how to "get there".

Regarding your specific experiences, sounds like you have had pretty good success in a relatively short amount of time. You mentioned that you opened your eyes a couple of times while the current was happening and saw something that "freaked you out." I'm wondering if you'd comment a bit more on that.

Sometimes when entering into dreaming, we pass through the world of inorganic beings - thus my curiousity.

ok then, the first time i opened my eyes while this energy or current was happening i noticed a white(not bright white) form or mass or whatever in the corner of my room i thought it was maybe someone messing with me but only for a second, it moved right toward me and then around to the back of me when it got close is when i found out that i could not speak i tried to say somthing like " what the hell " or somthing like that i dont remember and all that came out was a screach sound,thats when i got up and ended up spending the rest of the night in the living room, the second time was a little different, i was doing the usual turning off of the dialogue and this is when i had found out that it was easier to turn it off if i open my eyes a bit and just gaze at the lights blink on and off from my computer and smoke detector, anyways about a half hour into it right when my eyes were about to close this dark shadow went right across my face real close and and i followed it right up to the cealing.i noticed that my perception was a little different,i could no longer see the shadow but, it wierd and i dont know how to put it but when the lights would blink on and off i could actually see the dark retreat from the light and visa versa and not just that everything was particle like, thats the best way i can put it, it was definately a different way of seeing things, after a little while i fell asleep and that was the end of that. i would like to know about this voice, do you think it is an inorganic being or maybe the dreaming emesary? one night when the current was real strong the voice asked me"are you ready" i knew what he ment kind of because i always either fall alseep or chicken out when the current comes in and never last,so i said "yes " and off we went the current got much stronger we were cruzing but it got too crazy for me and it stoped. do you think maybe i dont have enough personal energy yet or what. i dont know whats going on, reading about it is one thing but experiencing it is another.its exciting and im hopeing for some insight on what i should do. no i dont take any kind of drugs:). any help would be nice and again i thank you. jay!

Normally when I have heard the type of voice you are referring to, it is either the voice of my double (if perceived to be "within), or the voice of an ally (if perceived to be "extant"). Of course, the further one goes on this path, the more one realizes that we draw to us that which we may learn from - so whether it is your double or an ally makes little difference at a certain level.

My advice would be to ask yourself the question you were asked, and be earnest & honest with yourself in your answer. "Are you ready?" Normally your reaction to the question itself will give you the answer. From there, it is sometimes easier to know what to do (or not-do) next.

you know realy since i have dove into this way of thinking and being as of late, ive noticed allot of my old habbits and wants and needs kind of die off, there are still some lingering habbits i have to get over,,,deep rooted ones, but when i stand back and look at were i am,, and what i have been realizing is that there is no way i could ever return to my old way of thinking,its just not possible. so i would say "Yes" to my own question. there is simply no other way! this is the path with heart! thanks for the help! by the way have you heard of the book, turtles all the way down ? i heard that it is a real help with the internal dialogue and the author reffer's to castanedas work allot in the book, just a question! thanks again!

now that i know what is hapening,i am going to keep at it. it seems that when ever i make a choice to experience this lucidness or double,i can usually make contact or get the current to settle in. ill tell you right now that it is the strangest thing to me because it pretty much rip's everything i have been conditioned with apart,and i can't deny it because of the sensation and the reality of what i have experienced, there is no doubt when you actually experience it. i am going to attemp it tonight and any time i can there is some force here i cant ignore and i have a desire to explore, i am going to keep a note pad close and keep everyone updated.since i am kind of ignorant and am a junior at this stuff maybe i could get some feedback on what i am doing right or if i am indulging or what i should attempt next,i dont realy know. ill let you know how it goes tonight! thanks again! jay!
